Description
Oil on Canvas 70x100 cm
The new painting, "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" is a metaforical representation of the human condition. In particular it was suggested to me by the book with the same name of Milan Kundera. But I was thinking that the The Unbearable lightness of being isn't like an heavy stone or something on our shoulders. Our own nature is volatile, our emotion, our feeling, our body...like water, impalpable, light, insubstantial...so unbearable! Unbearable like a war. Everything collapse in this painting, her body, the rapresentation of her concept of herself as a human being in the incoherent world. The mismatch between her feeling, her thoughts...and her body, and the reality all around her. The delusion when her (when everyone in our life, me in this particular case, this is the reason why I made this painting) realize suddenly this mismatch. So she is turning into water...she's splashing down in the air.
The last part of her real body, a little part of her face, her eye...is wathing this transformation terrified.
